On a few flights on China airlines, I watched some chinese movies, and I picked many good ones.
They are usually humorous yet touching, on topics that are more everyday life.
Recommended watch, in no particular order.
逆行人生 Upstream
I can relate to the movie: A 45 year old software engineer is retrenched, and couldn’t find another job, so ended up doing food delivery.
He struggled hard while facing financial issues on child’s education fee, housing mortgage and aging parents.

You might tip Foodpanda/Grab delivery thereafter.
热辣滚烫 YOLO
The actress really shed 50kg to shoot this. Inspiring. What a movie, what a work of art.

学爸 Papa
About the extreme efforts a dad make to enroll his son into a branded school. While extreme, that’s the reality in China education. Perhaps a bit in Singapore too.
