If your WhatsApp incoming video call auto hangs up after a few seconds on iPhone 17, this fix worked for me.
This looks like a WhatsApp bug triggered by Apple Camera Effects, specifically Center Stage (shown as Centre Stage or Centered Frame in call controls). Reports appear from October 2025 and are still showing up in February 2026, so this has not been fixed for months..
Specifically, if your iPhone is locked, and an incoming WhatsApp video/audio call comes in, when you pick it up you can talk for a few seconds before the app auto disconnects.
Steps to fix
- Start a WhatsApp video call
- Open Control Center (swipe down from top-right)
- Tap WhatsApp Controls
- Turn off Centre Stage
