If I lived in Mountbatten, Jeremy Tan would get my vote over the PAP.
I vote for the person, not party. For example, I like Sun Xueling, and she’s with PAP.
But for Mountbatten SMC, this independent candidate stands out. Jeremy Tan is clearly more tech-savvy, authentic, and speaks like a true tech bro.
His website is neat, clear, and policy-packed (maybe a little too much Bitcoin, but still better than most opposition candidates).
His rally speech? Solid.
If he gets elected, I believe he’ll bring real depth to parliament debates, given his background in entrepreneurship and tech.
What about the PAP candidate
I honestly wasn’t paying attention to Mountbatten until I heard something pretty naive about Bitcoin being “gambling”:
The PAP does not believe in gambling!
She then went on to “educate” people:
Bitcoin is not backed up by any physical assets or any government body.. it can go to ZERO
The PAP candidate is Goh Sze Kee. She’s a lawyer. From her speech, it seems she doesn’t really understand the tech behind cryptography or what Bitcoin represents. It’s digital gold, not a casino chip.
Even putting the crypto knowledge aside, her delivery didn’t feel authentic. Her Chinese speech (from around 56:20) actually gave me the creeps.
She’s on a whole different level — and not in a good way — from my PAP goddess.
