I spent 2 weeks in Taiwan, my first visit to the country, and I concluded it’s a fantastic place to live in.
As a Singaporean Chinese who has lived in 北京 for half a year, visited 上海 countless times, holidayed at 香港 so much that I don’t want to go back to, and visited numerous chinese cities, I concluded 台湾 is best.
Reasons:
- Cost of living is lower - car ownership costs HALF of Singapore
- Own a car and you will have plenty of places to drive to
- Plenty of natural scenery
- Plenty of activities
- Safer than China
- Friendly people and pets
- Not much of a problem when you speak mandarin
